And Then Reality Set In

If I was better looking,
perhaps he'd look at me

If I was more confident,
perhaps he'd notice me
For if I could shower him
with gifts and riches,
perhaps he'd consider me worthy

Not without a doubt,
if I had washboard abs,
he'd torn asunder and give me have a glance

The best of all I have to offer is not enough
My words too tepid to his ears,
My actions ineffective,
My deeds and love too hollow,
desire is not a spark in his furnace

I can only ponder,
some dreams simply aren't meant to be
