Harlem Nights - Hash N' Eggs

Thanks to my Della (the Blogger) for serving the T and laugh this afternoon! As promised...

Foolish Girl, Quasi Funny Guy.

By now, I'm sure the vid has circulated through the 'net, but I'm posting it here because I'm amazed at some people's insensitivity. The second video is another Asian student's humorous attempt to respond to the first...

What I didn't post was the Hodge Twins' response. Those two seem to everyone's champion these days...Here's the link.

Momentary Update

Things have been pretty busy lately and I'm just catching a minute to post. Whew! I'm excited for all good changes going on lately. Things are taking a positive turn and I'm amazed at how quickly. I supposed its true that with the right attitude you CAN accomplish anything. Onward, forward with the momentum.

So last weekend I met up with a friend in Philly who gave some focus to sharpen insight on my strategy even further. Since that convo, I've been using his advice to my advantage with some instance results. I like this feelin'. My side job is starting to fall into place with the training, even the main job is calming down and becoming tolerable... THANK YOU JESUS!!! Now if I can bottle this for a few weeks until I can keep this without external coaching, I'll be aiiight....

That's all for now.

Something To Take Notice...

Earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Millions of dead fish in Redondo Beach California. Political unrest in various places through out the world. Hell, strife and turmoil in our own country... It just makes me stop and wonder.

Tuesday on my way to work, I saw a man standing on the corner holding a sign proclaim that Judgment Day was on May 21, 2011. Now I had heard and seen this earlier this year when a theologian I used to listen made this announcement. At the time I mulled it over and didn't discount it, but didn't give it much credence either. Now after events of the last couple of days...Hm? I'm jus' saying.

I suppose anyone can make certain events fit into Biblical prophesy, but as a non-believer in coincidence, well when those birds fell out the sky in the Midwest I took notice. When the fish washed up dead in Maryland, I paid attention even further. Now they say in the last days there'll be many signs and wonders. I dunno. I never paid enough attention to this stuff.

Just pondering. For anyone reading, what are your thoughts?

Meli'sa Morgan - Do Me Baby

I was cleaning around the house and put my iPod on shuffle when Meli'sa came on. This song takes me back. Just wanted to share.

Mardi Gras

I've never been to Mardi Gras or Southern Decadence so the picture would be indeed be a site to see. Both events are something to add on to my bucket list.

Fat Tuesday! The last big hurrah before Lent. Tomorrow, I suppose the Faithful will be giving up one thing or another for the 40 days until Easter. Each year I try, but I struggle with it. Self-discipline is not one of my strongest features. Then again, it depends on what I give up. The goal this year? Cigarettes and continue on my weight loss path.

The Boondocks - Let it Burn

There's a back story behind this, but what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, LOL. I heard the real deal on the radio driving home today. Had to pull the car over cuz I was laughing so bad...

"CAR!"

Spring Challenges...Almost

It's Monday morning and I sooooo don't want to get up and ready for work, but do what I must. Still, it's raining here, foggy, and in the distance.... hark? Do I hear rumbles of thunder, eh? Transitioning into Spring. Well I can handle that. I'm grateful that Winter is almost over. The weekend was a chilly, but at least my friend Mister Sun was around. Praise Jeezus!

The last few weeks have been amusing to say the least. Learning some well deserved lessons. Some tough, others I'm gracing with ease. There's a long path ahead, but the path is never easy is it? Somehow, I managed to still lose a little bit of weight during the season, but I hope to amp it up now that the weather is gon' break. Plus seeing also pix of Cam Newton on everybody n' theri grammama's blogs and tumblr this weekend was encouragement enough for this chubby brutha to get slim once and for all. LOL. OK. I can do this!

The sky's the limit.

Ah Mariah....

I must admit I'm thoroughly loving this season of RuPaul's Drag Race. And I thought the contestants from last season had drama...Hmph. Some quick thoughts.

I'm truly appreciative Ru brought halfway decent big "girls," this season, although Mimi Imfurst was a mess beyond belief. I cringed every time she spoke. Just wrong.

The Pitt Crew boys need to be featured more! Both are sexy as shit.

I hate, loathe, detest, can't STAND Raja...yet her shit is on point. She works my fucking nerves though. Speaking of working my nerves, Delta...ugh! Next. My favorite and hopeful to be in the top three is Shangela, although based on the Untucked footage shown from last night, maybe she's not quite there? Dunno, but all I know she's my fave next to Alexis Mateo, Stacy, and alas....poor Mariah so got sent home last night.

Ru has picked some good guest judges this season, my faves so far have been LaToya, Vanessa, and Amber Rose. But as much as Santino can be a pain, please keep him on the panel each week. I really ain't feelin' Billy what's-his-name.

We'll see how the remaining episodes go, but I pretty expect its a given Raja will also make it to the top. Unlike Raven from last year (who I adore!) I'm not rooting for the "outspoken" bitch this season.

What The Future Holds

Hello. Yes, I'm still here. Trudging along. I haven't written a post in a few weeks and felt it was way overdue. Work has been kicking my ass lately and I've got a few side projects cooking, so I've been off the blog. I keep up with other blogs, but personally? I'm like "What the hell do I have to say?" Really. But I'm staying vigilant and holding true to some inspiration words a friend spoke about finding purpose.

So what does the future hold? Dunno. Perhaps my blog has served its purpose. I've spent more time writing in my personal journal than on here. An interestingly, I'm having more fun reading what others are doing the Blogosphere. So, to quote a very good friend, "We'll see."

Fly Above Negativity

So what's crackin'? Praise the Heavens! I'm back on my laptop. For the past few days I've been using my Blackberry to write blog posts because I was too cheap to pay for wireless in my hotel room. For the remainder of my trip I'll be visiting with locals here in Vegas/LA so I can use their wi-fi service.

I really don't feel like leaving Tuesday, dammit. Why is it once I get to Pacific time its always time to return home???

So ole Ian been going through it the last few days. Feelin' a bit inadequate not only in the circle of his peers, but in the glory (or the lack their of) life. Something is missing, again. For awhile I thought I'd found it. I was riding momentum but now that's gone the empty space leaves me wanting. Sometimes it's hard when your less than stellar in a crowd of folk who fly. I haven't felt loved, which is strange here cause you're constantly surrounded by people. There's been several faux paxs, humiliation to the Nth degree. A friend, (actually, the gentleman in the picture to the left. Mama always said give credit where credit is due. Buy Jamal's book while you're at it! ) recommended owning the situation, then moving on. Old habits die hard. But I'm making the effort...

I could use a good shoulder to cry on, but I refuse. For once, maybe not once OK, I'm going to pull it together and try. Use all the tools and resources I know are at my disposal, attempt to make the best of what I have. Hey, for what he's worth, Pharaoh is across the room. He's jammin' out to some music, but he's always willin' to listen when I need his ear. His brotherly love is enough to tell my crazy ass the truth, unlike other people I often surround myself, so best align myself with the truth, the fabulous, and the Divine. Yes, I'm leaving, but I'll be back. This is my resolve. And when I'll be back, I'll be a stronger brutha...

Whiskey Sour

When the world around you tends to be just a little more glamorous, a bit more zealous, sometimes its hard not to stand in envy those who have. Sitting at bar, listening to friends and associates dish the t and ki-ki about all things, I'm intrigued by their spirit and freedom. I have a tendency to be shy and not so outspoken so I love being around people who aren't afraid to express opinion without reservation or concern. Maybe I'm just feeling social envy. Yeah call it that. The ugly duck in the pack of beautiful swans. Someday though, with a little effort, a little challenge, perhaps I'll be in that freedom zone. Or maybe I'll just grow old enough that I won't care....

Much waxing philosophic lately, eh? This place make me feel very alone in a crowd.

House Blend

By my own unusual nature, I tend ti be shy in new situations. Las Vegas is nit the city ti hold back one's nature. As the saying goes "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." But does it really? Um no. I'm texting this sitting outside some club, a bit snookered, waiting for my friends to finish getting their party on. I've had my fill of loud music, crowded, dance floors, and smokey arena. I have two left feet and am utterly embarrassed I can't move my body with any sense of dance rhythm in existence. Going to a club is a preposterous event. I get too self-conscious, so I tend just drink.

What am I learning from my trip so far? Hm. I've met myself. Confronted the Buddha and wrestled with dearly beloved...figuratively speaking. In a world where life occasionally demands order, mine is lacking. This afternoon I received encouraging words to reach within and grasp talents I know exist, eschew uncertainty, and leave behind fear. So indeed, what I leave behind, what stays in Vegas, would be a good thing would it not? Life is perplexing.

The road ahead is long but not unmanageable. I'm going to be retooling to person I am and reshaping. Or all this just intoxicated ramble? Naw. My head is clearing and I've been feeling like this for a few days. This is the new beginning. A brand new tune. House blend even I can dance to.
